Financial Wellness for Your Future: Worry Less. Live Your Best Life.
Your financial wellbeing depends on making good decisions that fit your unique situation and goals. On February 19th, Lighthouse Visionary Strategies and our Champion Partner, Squamish Savings will present a workshop to dissolve barriers so you gain clarity and confidence about your financial future.
Our presenters, Jennifer Underwood and Shelley Bilodeau are wealth experts from Vancity, a values-based financial co-operative serving the needs of BC’s communities. Jennifer and Shelley will guide you to discover a holistic view of what is essential to you. This is not a sales pitch for services but instead, a presentation jam-packed with resources, tangible takeaways and useful tools. Participants will walk away with workbooks, action plan templates and checklists to craft their own unique road map to the future.
Our three segments will prepare you to:
- Live Your Best Future – Retirement planning isn’t just for the old. It’s never too early – or too late to explore how you want to live your life and how to achieve that lifestyle.
- Build Your Legacy – No matter your age or financial status, it’s essential that your affairs are in order and things are made easier for those you care about. This segment will arm you with a checklist for creating and implementing an appropriate estate plan.
- Protect Your Assets – What’s your biggest asset? Is it covered? What is your plan for disability and illness? Are your debts covered? Join in for a no-nonsense talk about everything from insurance to covering your debts to group insurance for entrepreneurs….. and everything in-between. Bring your questions!
Check in starts at 5:00 pm at Whistler First Aid’s meeting space in Function Junction (location details below). Join us for impactful networking and Lighthouse will provide light nibbles (crudite veggies, bread and crackers with an assortment of dips and a cookie platter) from Whistler Cooks, as well as sparkling water. Blenz Whistler will generously provide coffee and tea. Feel free to also bring your brown bag dinner if you need more fuel over the evening.
The workshop will start promptly at 5:30 pm for an interactive experience that is designed to zap the worry and fear associated with future proofing your finances.
Lastly, Lighthouse is all about mentorship and accountability so we will be announcing an optional online session following this event to ask your personalized questions. This will ensure that you are moving forward in creating your customized financial strategy.
Jennifer Underwood, Vancity – Wealth Planner
Jennifer started working at Squamish Credit Union in 2005. Continuing on after their 2006 merger with Vancity, she worked her way from Teller and Accounts Manager to her current role as Wealth Planner in the Vancouver head office. Having acquired financial management certification from BCIT, she will be writing the Personal Financial Planner exam this spring. Jennifer shares a powerful story blending her career knowledge and education with personal experience having lived below the poverty line. Wanting to help others build wealth to break through that barrier and seeing a need in the Squamish community, she created the “Fresh Start” program in 2012, designed to help people to have a “fresh start” with their finances.
Shelley Bilodeau, Vancity – Wealth Protection Specialist
Shelley Bilodeau is a Wealth Protection Specialist working with Vancity in the role of Small Business Benefits Advisor.
