Thank you to everyone for coming out to our October 21st Whistler Open Forum Event.

Navigating the Road Ahead with Powerful Partnerships: advice from entrepreneurial success stories was a huge success.

Our panelists shared their stories brilliantly – gratitude to Nicolette of The Green Moustache, Joe of Guusto and Louise of West Coast Float for inspiring all of us. Wouldn’t be possible without our Key Event Sponsors: Whistler Creative, Whistler Question newspaper, Community Futures Howe Sound, Nita Lake Lodge, and Crystal Brown Photography.  And thanks also to these 2 Event Sponsors: Race and Company and Olives on Tap

Our next event is slated for February so jump over to our Whistler Open Forum Event page, give it a like and stay tuned for details.

Meanwhile, here are some photos from October’s forum and just scroll down to see details on our topic.

Navigating the Road Ahead with Powerful Partnerships: advice from entrepreneurial success stories

Once a business is off the ground, almost every entrepreneur is faced with a crossroad. When you’re stuck and don’t know which path is the way forward, outside help can break down barriers and offer clarity.

At the next Whistler Open Forum, hear personal stories of how partnerships have helped local business owners dream bigger, aim higher and accomplish more than they ever thought was possible. Whether through financial support or impactful mentorship, get inspiration from our panel of entrepreneurs who have leveraged partnerships and investment to gain recognition, create opportunities and achieve excellence in their industries.

After this event, you will walk away with practical ideas and tips to:

  • Attract the right partners to move you forward and achieve your business objectives;
  • Harvest the influence of mentorship to reach your potential with best practices, shared knowledge and meaningful connections;
  • Better understand options for financial support, whether through traditional institutions or alternative investors.

Join us to get the inside track on the power of partnerships, mentoring and financial funding from these leaders of Whistler-based success stories:

Louise Van Engelsdorp of  West Coast Float

Louise Van Engelsdorp opened West Coast Float in 2013, offering her guests a peaceful place to enjoy the health benefits of sensory deprivation in Epsom Salt float pods. She spent many years in the corporate business world until Bob, husband and Co-Founder inspired her to jump out of her cubicle and into a float pod. At this event, Louise will share how she secured substantial funding from Community Futures Howe Sound for this venture and the unexpected benefit of their continuing support through connections, resources and education. She is also co-owner of a diner with locations on the coast and in the desert.

Joe Facciolo of Guusto

Joe Headshot

Joe Facciolo is an entrepreneur with over 10 years experience in the marketing, tourism, hospitality and technology industries. Co-Founder of Whistler Tasting Tours and more recently, of Guusto, a mobile app that lets you send food and drinks as gifts, Joe believes in building companies on a foundation of mutually beneficial partnerships that provide outstanding value for customers while benefiting our communities. He will enlighten our audience with his recent experience as the first BC startup to benefit from the new equity crowdfunding concept.

Nicolette Richer of The Green Moustache

nickyheadshot 0287sml

As a former environmental policy developer and educator, Nicolette Richer knows the inextricable link between planetary health, human health and what’s wrong with the food we eat. So 18 months ago, she opened The Green Moustache in Whistler and followed that with a second location in Vancouver six months after that. Their audacious mission is to set up a disease-fighting, health-promoting eatery next to every school, hospital and McDonalds on the planet in an effort to reduce cancer rates by 50%. The Green Moustache will release franchising opportunities this fall in some far-flung locales – New York, Salt Lake City, California to name a few. At this Open Forum event, Nicolette will provide insight into why you need a mentor and how to be a funding magnet.
